My name is Mairi Thompson, and I am passionate about helping women- and myself- through the perimenopause/menopause years with stronger bones, stronger body, and a stronger mindset.
After reaching my mid 40's, I started to notice changes in my body, mind and hormone levels and got increasingly frustrated with the 'one size fits all' approach to health and fitness.
This just doesn't fit for women over 40, because our hormone levels have changed and so have we!!
What once worked in terms of diet and exercise will likely no longer serve your clients- and it wasn't serving me.
I believe the fitness profession can better support women through the menopause years with appropriate education, collaboration, wisdom and empathy.
How you train women in their 20's and 30's needs to be adapted for women in the 40+ years, or you simply wont get the results that your clients' deserve.
I've combined my professional (Bsc.Sport & Exercise Science, Dip Sport & Remedial Massage, Certified Pilates instructor with 20+ years in clinical practise and Olympic Sport) and personal experience as an active women over 40 in peri menopause, to create ways to educate fitness professionals on the training, diet and lifestyle adaptations needed for women in peri and post menopause with their declining hormone levels, so that you can get better results for your clients, and have a better business for yourself.
